Eden Prairie, MN, Sept. 29, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Cardinal Glass Industries has introduced the next generation of its innovative CLiC On-Demand Privacy Glass, expanding the product with larger sizes, thinner glass and reduced weight in response to feedback from manufacturers.
Cardinal supplies the glass used in residential and commercial windows and doors across North America. End users may know the window or door brand, but Cardinal is often the glass behind it, trusted for quality, durability and consistent performance. That same manufacturing foundation is behind CLiC.
CLiC uses an all-new, film-free PSCT technology to shift from clear to private in milliseconds. The technology eliminates the haziness and common failure modes associated with older PDLC-based switchable privacy products. Unlike earlier generations of privacy glass, CLiC was designed with durability, optical clarity and long-term reliability at the forefront.
Now, manufacturers, architects and designers have even greater flexibility when incorporating CLiC into their products and projects. Customers can specify CLiC for panes up to 50 square feet, with a maximum height of 10.75 feet and a minimum width of 7 inches. CLiC engineering has also reduced the glass thickness to 9.9mm across the full size range, making the product thinner and lighter than ever before. For exterior applications, CLiC is built directly into the insulating glass unit by replacing the inner pane of glass. A CLiC-powered insulating glass unit can range from 3/4 inch up to 2 inches overall, making CLiC insulating units compatible with standard residential exterior windows, doors and framing systems without requiring special modifications.

Larger panes that are lighter in weight expand the possibilities for a room or entire residence, providing even greater flexibility without losing the ability to deliver privacy on demand.
